ABOUT USDr. Timothy Zola obtained his undergraduate degree at Northern Arizona University where he majored in botany with a minor in chemistry. He spent several years during and after his undergrad years fighting wild land fires, working as an EMT, working for hospice, as well as many other odd jobs. After making the decision to attend medical school, he enrolled at St. Louis University School of Medicine. During his time there he found emergency medicine to be a natural fit. After completing his residency training at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, he settled in Olympia where he has been serving our community as a board certified emergency medicine physician. He has eleven years of experience performing complex procedures under what most would consider fairly stressful conditions. After his own vasectomy, Dr. Zola felt that this simple, low risk, comparatively low cost, procedure should be more widely available in our community. He has subsequently pursued training in the no needle no scalpel technique of vasectomy. He has approached learning the necessary skills, and making this procedure as accessible as possible, with the same intensity and dedication that he has applied to emergency medicine. He has been certified in the no needle no scalpel technique of vasectomy by his friend and mentor, Dr. Doug Stein.
The mission of NSVI is to promote and provide free No-Scalpel Vasectomy services worldwide, but especially in developing countries whose infrastructure and environmental resources are challenged by rapid population growth unchecked by established and/or effective family planning programs.
Tim is married to Danielle, a critical care pharmacist, who also doubles as the office manager for South Sound Vasectomy. They have three boys Quin, Nate, and Kenji.
